Sony will soon launch the Android 4.0 update or Ice Cream Sandwich to the first part of their handset production with Ericsson. But vendors who now stands alone in the cell phone business to give a special warning.
In his blog, Sony stated that from mid-April 2012, the Android 4.0 update will be released for Xperia Arc S, Neo V and Ray.
Then Xperia Arc, Play, Neo, Mini, Mini Pro, Pro and Active are scheduled gets updated May or early June.
Sony warned that the Android 4.0 update may cause problems in some of the smartphone. Especially the old handsets that have been circulating where in some scenarios, its performance may be decreased.
Sony says the use of RAM will increase in Android 4.0.
So that the Xperia device with 512 MB of RAM may be staggered to handle a specific application or task.
Sony confirms Android 4.0 update will only be available for download via PC. Of course this news is quite encouraging considering the adoption of Android 4.0 is still small.
